It appears that her turn as Tia Dalma is the Pirates of the Carribean series has done wonders for Naomie’s career: her next two films (in which she appears to be the main female in both) catapults Naomie in amongst a list of some of today’s hottest stars.

August, currently in post-production, sees Naomie star alongside Josh Hartnett and David Bowie, in a film about two brothers fighting to keep their start-up company afloat on Wall Street during August 2001, a month before the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Meanwhile, filming has begun on The Night Watchman, a crime thriller with an even more noteable cast than August: Keanu Reeves stars as veteran LAPD implicated in the execution of a fellow officer, while the cast is rounded out by recent Oscar winner and Last King of Scotland star, Forest Whitaker, Fantastic Four star Chris Evans, and fellow Brit, House M.D. star Hugh Laurie.
